Overview

Resin Bonding

Resin bonding creates durable, attractive surfaces by hand-laying selected aggregates with high-quality resin. It suits paths, driveways and public areas where strength and appearance matter.

Monk Of Colne offers a wide choice of stone blends to match your look and use. Some colours are best paired with UV-resistant resin to help prevent fading in sunlight — we’ll always recommend the right combination for your setting and exposure.

Our teams install with precision — careful prep, consistent spread and clean edges — for a robust, even finish that lasts. Resin bonding gives you the rich character of natural stone with a cohesive, easy-to-maintain surface.

Choose Monk Of Colne for resin bonding that delivers long-term performance and standout kerb appeal.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Our Resin Bonding Service

From mix selection to UV-stable options, we tailor every surface for durability and appearance.

01

Full self-delivery service

We handle everything in-house — consultation, groundworks and installation — using our own teams and equipment for competitive pricing, swift delivery and consistent quality.

From the first consultation through to final completion, Monk Of Colne provides a comprehensive self-delivery resin bonding service. Our dedicated teams and specialist equipment ensure clear accountability and removed hand-offs — a single team that surveys, prepares, lays and signs off the surface.

02

Precision resin application

Experienced installers use proven methods to ensure correct base prep, resin coverage and aggregate lock — creating a strong, even and attractive surface.

Resin bonding is unforgiving — a rushed base or an inconsistent resin spread shows. Our teams take time on substrate preparation, weather windows and mix selection, then apply the resin evenly and broadcast the aggregate promptly for maximum bond and a uniform finish.

03

Safety first

Clear site procedures, regular training and modern equipment keep projects safe, efficient and compliant.

Safety protocols cover resin handling, PPE, spill control and site segregation. Regular team training and well-maintained equipment mean resin bonding projects are delivered safely and in line with current standards — important on public and commercial sites where users share the space.

04

Customer satisfaction

Transparent updates, practical aftercare and proactive follow-ups ensure your surface performs and looks its best long term.

Our relationship continues after the aggregate has set. You’ll get clear aftercare advice on cleaning, de-icing and edge care, and a proactive follow-up visit from our mobile support team to catch any maintenance early — keeping the surface looking sharp for years.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What is resin bonding and how is it different from resin bound?

Resin bonding is a surface-dressing process — we coat a prepared base with resin and scatter loose aggregate into the wet film, producing a textured finish. Resin bound systems mix the aggregate and resin beforehand and trowel the blend on as one layer. Bonding is quick and tactile; bound is smoother and permeable. We can talk through which suits your site best.

Will the colour fade over time?

Some lighter and brighter aggregate colours can be susceptible to UV over many years. Where that’s a concern, we specify a UV-stable (UVR) resin, which helps the finish keep its colour. We’ll always flag where UV-stable resin is recommended before installation.

Where can resin bonded surfaces be installed?

They’re well suited to driveways, footpaths, pedestrian areas, courtyards and decorative zones. For areas with heavy or turning vehicle traffic, we’ll advise honestly on whether bonded resin or a different system fits best.

How do I maintain a resin bonded surface?

Keep it clear of debris with regular brushing or blowing, rinse occasionally, and deal with spills promptly. Avoid harsh jet-washing too close to the surface. Written aftercare notes are provided on handover.

Can you lay resin over my existing base?

Sometimes — if the existing tarmac or concrete is sound, well-drained and correctly profiled. If the substrate is failing, we’d recommend remedial work or re-lay first so the resin finish has a reliable base.

What about weather on install day?

Resin needs dry conditions and a workable temperature window. We monitor forecasts closely and will reschedule if conditions won’t give the finish the right cure — it’s the difference between a surface that lasts and one that doesn’t.
